At the University of Minnesota, we are committed to making our world-class education a great value for Minnesota families. Under the University of Minnesota Promise Scholarship (U Promise), we have expanded our need-based programs to guarantee tuition aid for Minnesota resident undergraduates with a family income of up to $100,000.

Our Promise

If you are an eligible Minnesota resident undergraduate enrolled at any of the University's five campuses, you will receive one of the following scholarships:

• A U Promise Free Tuition Scholarship (previously named the Founders Free Tuition Program) that ensures 100 percent of your tuition and fees are covered, if you are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant and your state and federal gift aid do not cover the full cost of University tuition and fees
  or
• A U Promise Middle Income Scholarship worth up to $1,750, if you are not eligible for a Federal Pell Grant but your family's income is less than $100,000
